Case Study 12: HR Compliance in China

This small foreign company wasn't sure if it was doing the right thing by its employees

When this SME first came to ManageChina, they didn't really have an HR system. They used to hire people based on someone they knew. They used to lay off people and draft documentation on the fly. They had no set of KPI's or no formal review process in place for any of the staff - including the ex-pat General Manager. They were in a human resource minefield.

Starting with the right contracts and working from there.

As part of a complete audit of their HR system, ManageChina found that their work contracts were many and varied and rarely complied with the current Chinese HR rules. Starting with the work contracts and working towards an effective company handbook, a complete review of the entire process was done and action was taken. The client now has an effective end to end HR system that also allows for ongoing changes in the HR legislation.
