The script calls for high finance and it is a race from London to Shanghai. The only problem is that they need to be able to work various locations and local attractions into the script. Shanghai is so fast moving that most of these come and go within the blink of an eye. It calls for a more current look at this city before the script proceeds much further.
From the moment he steps off the plane, the scriptwriter is taken from location to location to help acquaint him with the lay of the land. The producer is taken for visits to the Shanghai Movie Group (SMG) - the government body who authorise foreign movies in Shanghai.
