Are you a start-up in the interactive and digital media industry? Get a grant of up to S$50,000 to develop your new idea into an innovative product or service.
For who?
- Any business that is registered/incorporated in Singapore.
- Individuals may also apply provided the bulk of the project funded takes place in Singapore.
For what?
- To provide funds and mentors to start-ups in the interactive digital media (IDM) industry with breakthrough ideas which can be turned into innovative products or services.
- Your project must involve:
- innovation (e.g. technology or business model innovation)
- technology (e.g. a new web/mobile application)
- Your project must be:
- in the early stages of development
- carried out mostly in Singapore
- risky and yet be feasible
- Your project must result in innovative products, processes or business models which:
- can be protected by intellectual property (IP) laws; or
- have the potential to be exported regionally and globally
- You must have/be:
- a clear vision of your project’s business potential
- a passion for the subject matter
- committed to the viability of the project
How much?
- A mentor will be appointed to nurture your start-up and administer the funds. Mentors will:
- invest in your startup as shareholders (≈10% - 25% of the project cost)
- advise startups on their idea’s uniqueness
- help startups develop their contact network
- provide general business advice
- offer guidance on securing additional project funding
See: List of mentors on the IDM Programme Office website - You will receive a grant of up to S$50,000 of your project’s qualifying costs which includes:
- subsistence allowance of up to S$600 a month per applicant
- cost of hiring external advisers
- marketing expenses
- research expenses
- purchase of equipment and software
Things to note
- You will receive the funds as advancements from your mentor on a quarterly basis.
- You must return any unspent funds if you decide not to complete the project.
