Description

Discretionary grant and loan assistance is available for small and medium-sized businesses. The fund is particularly geared to aiding the purchase of specific items of expenditure such as:

equipment or machinery
training courses
publicity material
telephone installation
specialist computer software

Max amount: £1,000
Slightly larger grants may be made at the discretion of the council.

Eligibility

Small and start-up businesses in Allerdale (excluding Workington and Seaton) are eligible.

Retail outlets, computers and vehicles are ineligible for funding.

Evaluation

Priority is given to young people wishing to start their own business, and existing businesses that can demonstrate increased employment opportunities for the Allerdale area.
