Maritime Enterprise IT Development (MERIT) Programme-Singapore

Get a grant to use IT to modernise and upgrade your maritime operations.

For who?

MERIT is for Singapore-registered businesses in the maritime industry which have:

* 30% - 100% local shareholding

* 0-200 employees (excluding crew members working on board vessels)*

* fixed assets worth S$0 - S$15M (excluding vessels and crafts)*

* business presence in Singapore, i.e. operating in Singapore

* Computed on a group basis.

For what?

* To help maritime businesses in Singapore defray the costs of IT projects for modernising and upgrading operations.

* IT projects supported by MERIT may involve:

o automation or computerisation of key business processes
o information management
o connections to electronic business networks

* Examples of IT projects include:

o customer relationship management
o financial management
o fleet management
o human resource management
o inventory management
o ship management
o Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) connections

How much?

* MERIT funds up to 70% of the total IT project cost.

Things to note:

* You can still apply for MERIT if you have received MERIT funds before. However, the last grant you received must be more than 2 years ago.
