Get a grant to hire a consultant to help you minimise workplace risks and comply with the Workplace Safety and Health Act and Workplace Safety and Health (Risk Management) regulations.For who?
Companies and factories:
- covered under the Workplace Safety and Health Act (First Schedule).
- with 1-200 employees (including administrative and managerial staff)
- with at least 2 managerial or supervisory staff who have attended Risk Management training by Accredited Training Providers
- who have not received any Government funds for risk assessment
For what?
- From 1 September 2006, companies and factories listed in the First Schedule under the Workplace Safety and Health Act must conduct risk assessment of their workplace.
- The grant subsidises the cost of hiring Approved Risk Consultants (PDF) to help you set-up a risk assessment system to minimise workplace risks.
How much?
- RMAF co-funds up to 70% of consultancy cost, up to a maximum of S$3,500.
- RMAF does not cover any implementation costs, e.g. installation of safety enclosures for machinery.
Things to note
- To apply for the fund, you need to contact a RMAF agent. The RMAF agent will check that your company qualifies and help you with the application.
- The RMAF agent will charge you a fee to prepare and endorse your application. The maximum fee charged is S$1,000.
- You must submit your RMAF application at least 1 working day before starting the risk assessment project.
Facts & Figures
- A total of S$5 million is available under RMAF.
- The funds will be given out over 3 years. In the first 2 years, S$2 million will be given out. In the third year, the remaining S$1 million will be given out.
- Funds are given out on a first-come-first-served basis.
