For who?
Singapore-based businesses that have:
- substantial operations in Singapore (e.g. with regional operations that benefit Singapore)
- a credible business plan for existing or future plans to conduct business in the country of training
Company executives sent for training on IBF funding must meet all of the following criteria:
- be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
- have a good university degree
- be independent, resourceful, business savvy
- be interested in learning more about the country, where they will be trained, i.e. Central Asia, China, India, the Middle East, Russia or Vietnam
- be proficient in both written and spoken Mandarin (applicable to those training in China)
Company executives on Market Immersion Programmes:
- must not have prior work experience in the country of training
- must not be responsible for the operations of the country where they will be training
For what?
- To support companies in training a pool of manpower talent with deep knowledge of doing business in Central Asia, China, India, the Middle East, Russia and Vietnam by subsidising the training and related costs.
- 3 types of training programmes are supported:
- Market Immersion Programme
To send fresh graduates (potential employees) or mid-level executives for training attachments. They will be attached to your own operations in Central Asia, China, India, the Middle East, Russia and Vietnam. The training lasts from 12 - 18 months. - Postgraduate Programme
To send senior executives for part-time and full-time study on approved business-related post-graduate programmes at top universities in the supported markets. The training should last no more than 2 years. - Executives Programme
To send CEOs or senior management on short courses at top universities and training institutes, like the Tsinghua University and the Tata Managment Training Centre. The training should not exceed 10 days.
